Church at the Lake

This Sunday we are at the Chapin Lake. Church starts at 10 am and we will have communion and baptisms.  After baptisms, you are invited to stay for lunch, volleyball and water activity!. 

Things to Note:

• Please maintian social distancing between family units and masks/face shields should be worn unless age 5 and younger or a medical condition prevents you from doing so.
• Bring your own camp chair for our worship gathering. 
• Modest swimwear required (ladies: no midriff; guys: if not in the water, please wear a shirt). 
• Lifejackets required (bring one if you have one; if not, a life jacket can be provided). 
• If swimming, bring a towel and water toys if desired.

Directions:
The lake access is between these two addresses on Wheatland Rd.  The gravel driveway across from Waconda is where you enter.

This week’s service will not be livestreamed. It will be recorded and posted later in the day on Facebook and on the church’s website.

Baby Shower for Rebeca

Ladies, join us on Zoom on Sept 19th at 10:00 AM to celebrate Rebeca and Joshua’s coming baby boy (due in mid-October). We will play games, listen to a devotional, and watch Rebeca open gifts.

Youth Group Snow Day

Meet at Kingwood at 8:30am for your ride to Santiam Pass for a day tubing in the snow! You are responsible to bring your own lunch. Warm drinks will be provided in the snow. Pizza is provided on the way home. The cost is $5. We arrive back at Kingwood by 6:00pm

Men’s Breakfast

There will be a scrumptious breakfast served at 8am on the 19th. We will pray for our church family and needs as we step into the coming year.

Ladies Bunco Night

Enjoy an evening of laughter around the table! Come at 6:30 for snacks and a game of Bunco. You are welcome to come in 1950’s dress-up if desired. Prizes will be awarded!

L.O.F.T – Youth Group

Youth Group resumes this week as Middle and High School students start a new school year.

Young Adult Gathering

Kingwood has a Young Adult Group which meets on the third Sunday of the month for dinner at Pastor Nate & Kelsey’s. This month tacos will be served! Games, meeting new people, a focused discussion and prayer are all part of the evening together. Time: 6-9pm

Church Business Meeting

Following the morning service, we will have our church family business meeting to vote on the 2020-2021 budget.

The proposed budget was made available last Sunday in the lobby. If you want a copy, please contact the church office. If you are a member and unable to attend, absentee ballots or call-in voting is available. If you are not a member, we encourage you to attend and learn how business is run at Kingwood.

POSTPONED – Church Family Movie Night

Our movie night has been postponed. We will announce a new date.

Come grab a bag of popcorn, licorice, and a drink and enjoy the heartwarming film Overcomer.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on for this show.  This event is free!  Location: Gymnasium.  Time: 7-9pm

Enjoy a movie with the church family in the gymnasium! Popcorn is provided by men’s ministry; a hot cocoa bar by the women’s ministry; and licorice by the youth ministry! Bring a lawn chair or a comfy seat to sit on.
